Ingredients
For the Beef Burgers:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Cucumber Salad:
- 1 English cucumber, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
For Serving:
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced red onion
- Kimchi (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, grated ginger, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
- While the burgers are grilling, prepare the cucumber salad. In a separate bowl, combine the sliced cucumber, rice vinegar, sugar, red pepper flakes, and salt. Toss to coat the cucumbers evenly.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill for a minute or until lightly golden.
